Painted Pumpkin Raffle

This year, we decided to try something NEW and exciting! We decided to host a Painted Pumpkin Raffle

Before the Raffle: Before the raffle, every class painted a pumpkin so that people would like it. We did a presentation and each class designed pumpkins for the raffle that was coming up,  because all the students hoped to win the pumpkins so they buyed so many tickets to win the one they wanted. Before the raffle, we also talked about the "Painted Pumpkin Raffle" and everyone was very excited. We drew posters about the pumpkin raffle and taped them around the school, so that they were all aware about it.

During the Raffle: Throughout the raffle, classes were full of ideas on what they should paint the pumpkins we chose for them. We talked about the “Painted Pumpkin Raffle” gave each and every class a pumpkin to paint . All the classes were very excited about the result of the raffle, who won and won what. Some people who won the pumpkin raffle were not there that time because they were away and some people who won the pumpkin raffle were in grade 1-2 so Mr O asked some volunteers to help the younger students carry the pumpkin they won. Though most of the grade 6 didn’t bring money. Then some more of the grade 6 brought money for the raffles. 

After the Raffle: Soon after the raffle, we lined up in the hall and pulled out the names of the winners. We lined up at the pumpkin we thought we could carry in case the pumpkin was too heavy for the winner to carry. We closed our eyes, pulled out a name and soonley the hall was filled with winners and excitement. The winners carried the pumpkin they won and carried to their class. There were some sad emotions because they didn’t win the pumpkin they wanted, but they were soonley cheered up because it wasn't about the pumpkin but the experience we went through while it happened.
